The V-LED consortium
The V-LED project is implemented by an international consortium of five organisations:
adelphi leads the V-LED project and plays an overarching coordination role. adelphi is a Berlin-based independent think tank and public policy consultancy on climate, environment and development. Its mission is to improve global governance through research, dialogue and advice. The team involved in implementing the V-LED project are Paola Adriázola (project lead), Lisa Strauch, Tucker Landesman and Lia Weitz.
Sustainable Energy Africa (SEA) implements the V-LED project in South Africa. SEA promotes equitable, low carbon, clean energy development through research, capacity building and policy engagement. Peta Wolpe, Yachika Reddy and Simisha Pather-Elias implement the V-LED activities in South Africa.
OneWorld Sustainable Investments is one of the V-LED implementing partners in South Africa. OneWorld is a sustainable development consulting organisation, focusing on adaptive development within the context of changing climatic conditions and resource constraints. The organisation works at the science-policy-development interface with a focus on building resilience in the face of climate change. V-LED activities are coordinated by Belynda Petrie.
The Institute for Law and Environmental Governance (ILEG) is the implementing partner in Kenya. ILEG is an independent, non-profit public interest law and policy organisation seeking to transform the way governments make decisions that affect the environment and natural resources on which livelihoods depend. Benson Ochieng, Francis Oremo and Valentine Opanga implement the V-LED activities in Kenya.
UN Habitat Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific is the implementing partner in the Philippines and Vietnam. UN Habitat is the United Nations programme working towards a better urban future. Its mission is to promote sustainable human settlements development and the achievement of adequate shelter for all. Bernhard Barth coordinates the work of UN Habitat for the V-LED project in Vietnam and the Philippines. Laids Mias Cea coordinates implementation in the Philippines and Quang Nguyen in Vietnam.
