An impressive body of work on climate change is in progress in South Africa, led by national ministries and local actors. The success of coordinated action will depend on the buy-in from municipalities, the integration of climate change into service delivery and capacity development across all sectors.
These were some of the key messages from the V-LED inception workshop that took place in Pretoria on 18 June 2015, hosted by the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) at its Green Building in Pretoria and organised by the South Africa V-LED team. The most important stakeholders representing national and local government in the country met and committed to continuing the joint work towards coordinated action.
