We are thrilled to announce the V-LED Southeast Asia Lessons Learnt Workshop. “Moving forward climate action of cities in Vietnam and the Philippines” will bring together governing actors from national and sub-national levels from the Philippines and Vietnam as well as stakeholders from civil society to reflect on four years of V-LED and exchange good practices of sub-national climate action.
The two-day event marks the last V-LED event for both countries and will take place on December 12-13 in Legazpi city, Philippines.
Please find the programme of the event here: Programme: V-LED Southeast Asia Lessons Learnt Workshop
Over the past four years, V-LED has stimulated horizontal exchanges for climate action at the sub-national level, facilitated coherent actions between different governing levels and supported relevant capacity building activities. In particular, the project has conducted vertical dialogues and horizontal exchanges for an effective response to climate change.
Along the way, V-LED summarised the experiences gained in Vietnam and the Philippines in two country studies that explore the Vietnamese and Philippine multi-level climate governance architecture in practice. The analysis identifies good practices, barriers to upscaling local climate action and entry points for government, funders, citizens and development organisations. You can find the studies following the links below:
While the event marks the end of V-LED operations in the Philippines and Vietnam, the consortium partners, adelphi and UN Habitat remain committed to enabling transformative local climate action and look forward to exploring how the project’s important work can continue in the future.
